Rachel Woolcott has always been passionate about creating memories through scent; having worked as a chef for 20 years. Her culinary experience gave her an appreciation for how scent and taste are intertwined.
It’s with that passion that Rachel founded Wooly Wax and began creating and pouring custom candles, scented with aromatic spices like juniper berry, long pepper or angelica seed, and layered with meaning. Her chefing experience gave Rachel an acute sense of how flavors and scents complement each other. How a layer of mint might be the perfect complement to a base of lavender.
The primary scents she’s created – part of her Classic Line – are each derived from her life. Burmese Teakwood was inspired by her father's study: soaked in a comforting bouquet of leather, wood and Scotch. San Francisco Fog emerged from memories of growing up surfing and detecting the differences between the essence of early morning, damp, dewy sand and late afternoon onshore breeze.
